Using cosmetics and protective products is a part of most people’s daily hygiene habits and routine. However, overusing cosmetics has put the health of the society, especially women, at risk. The demand for cosmetics increases by the day, regardless of their harm. According to a report by the Society for Skin Specialists of Iran, the majority of visits to skin specialists were a result of adverse reactions of cosmetics. Allergic reaction manifested as burning sensation and tingling at the spot where the cosmetic has been applied is the most common adverse effect of cosmetics, especially counterfeit cosmetics. Other symptoms include: redness, swelling, itching, blistering, hives, infection of the skin, infection of hair follicles, alteration in skin color, spots, wrinkles, early aging and acne.
If cosmetics remain on your skin, they would be absorbed into your skin pores and can threat your skin’s health. Cleansing of the skin from cosmetics allows your skin to breathe.
