Seyed Hossein Hejazi, God bless his soul, graduated with a degree in Agricultural Machinery Engineering from Shiraz University in 1970. He was certified in the design and implementation of Modern European irrigation system and was the originator and founder of the G.T.B complex, which is inclusive of:
Golkaran agro-industry established in 1985 with a total of 53 personnel
Construction Equipment Co. established in 1990 with a total of 293 personnel
Barij Essence Pharmaceutical Company established in 1992 with a total of 516 personnel
The late Mr. Hejazi’s responsibilities in the complex were: Chairman and Managing director of Barij Essence Pharmaceutical Co.
Barij Essence Pharmaceutical Co., producer of medicine, food, cosmetic and hygienic products based on herbal active ingredients, was founded in 1992 and officially marketed its products in 1995.
Between the years 1980 to 1985, he was responsible for restarting and expanding a governmental plant in the field of essential oils.
Between the years 1985 to 1993, two manufacturing factories of essential oils (Golkaran) and Construction Equipment Co. were founded and subsequently Barij Essence was founded in 1992 and together these Complex Affiliated Companies became known as the GTB Complex.
In 1995 the first series of Barij Essence pharmaceutical products were dispensed in pharmacies as oral drops.
In 1997, its R&D center was recorded at the Ministry of Industry and began its process of research activity. The research and development center of Barij Essence caused this company’s cooperation and constructive engagement with scientific and academic communities.
From 1997 to the present, along with the development of the company, 150 research projects have been conducted resulting in increased development of products to more than 70 kinds of medicines and cosmetics products.
The medicine distribution unit of the company was launched in 2002 and its offices were set up in the center of the country’s 12 most populous provinces and through these offices more than 7,000 pharmacies across the country were covered.
Medical education was placed on the agenda in 2003 and so far, more than 3,000 physicians have participated in herbal therapy and traditional medicinal classes. These traditional courses are still being held throughout the country.
In order to support Barij Essence for producing herbal plants, the Ettehad Agricultural Company was established in 2003, and currently has two deep wells and 150 acres of land, much of which is under cultivation.

The semi-solids to produce a variety of creams, ointments and gels.
The solids to produce a variety of tablets and capsules.
The soft capsules to produce pharmaceutical gelatin capsules and supplements as the first manufacturer of herbal medicinal products in the form of soft gelatin capsules in our country.
The Company is currently pending approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for a number of new medical products.
The Company is currently pursuing licensing from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for a number of new pharmaceutical products.

Barij Essence Co.serves as a reference labfor tests related to the pharmaceutical products of the company, using international and national procedures in order to fulfill the objectives of the company. This lab aims to increase its level of customer satisfaction through quality laboratory services and thus has put forward the following agenda:
Committed to good professional practice in relation to the quality of testing services provided to customers
• Improving staff skills and performance through systematic training, planning, and so on
• Employing capable and competent people in the lab to ensure accurate test related activities
• To meet the requirements of test methods and work towards continuous improvement
• Optimal use of available resources
• Developing a range of activities associated with the trails/ tests, through studies and completion (purchase) of equipment
• Good communication with customers and timely and appropriate follow-up with complaints received by customers
• Management is committed to ensure that the interests of the laboratory staff are independent of company interests and employees are free of any internal and external pressures that may adversely affect the quality of laboratory works
To achieve the above goals, the laboratory of Barij Essence Co. has designed its quality management system standard based on ISO/IEC 17025. Moreover, the senior laboratory manager, to provide the necessary resources to accomplish these goals and meet the standard safety requirements and improve laboratory activities, has obliged and committed himself to examine the effectiveness of the lab in certain periods.

Barij Essence Pharmaceutical Company is the manufacturer of pharmaceuticals (human and animal) and cosmetic products with the goal of producing health and food supplements based on the active ingredient in herbal products with maximum effectiveness and minimal side effects.
To achieve this goal and distribute the culture of using herbal medicines in the community with a commitment to meet customer demands and fully observe the laws and related regulations (local, national, and international), quality objectives are set in this context and the following strategies are pursued:

√ Development and research of the identification and cultivation of medicinal plants in various stages of clinical research in plant breeding at the Jondishapur Research Center in order to increase the entry of new products and meet customer needs

√ Using knowledge and technology alongside Iran’s scientific heritage for research, production, and continuous quality improvement
√ Research communication with overseas and exporting products
√ Enhancing and transforming medicines to the form of tablets, capsules, and pearls for improving the taste and odor of medicines and increasing customer satisfaction
